Below is our recommended Kar98k loadout. Our other weapon loadout guides can be found here.
The classic Kar98k is one of the best rifles in Call of Duty, provided that you are a proficient user. Though classified as a Marksman Rifle, this weapon performs more like a Sniper Rifle. The Kar98k is for experienced users and it is only useful if you can land headshots consistently. Otherwise, you are better off with a generic Sniper Rifle such as the HDR.
TOP GAMEPLAY HIGHLIGHTS & GUIDES
Below we have one of the best Kar98k custom classes for Warzone, which is suitable for both Battle Royale and Plunder. This setup allows you to aim through your scope much faster, hence the term "quick scope."
This quick scoping setup in Warzone is still not as fast as some loadouts in classic installments like Modern Warfare 2, but it is the best we can get in Modern Warfare (2019) using the indicated attachments. You can see the full list of attachments with their unlock level requirements here.
Kar98k Video Showcase
Anonymity is key to winning matches in Warzone. You need to ensure you are hidden from your enemies, and gunshots are a dead giveaway of your location. You should always have a suppressor on your weapon, whether you're using an AR or a Sniper Rifle.
For the Muzzle, you should choose the Monolithic Suppressor. It not only suppresses your gun, which helps you stay hidden from other players, but also increases your damage range.
The Monolithic Suppressor for Kar98k unlocks at level 33
For the Barrel, we recommend the Singuard Custom 27.6". This Barrel helps you increase the damage range of the Kar98k even more, along with increased bullet velocity and recoil control.
The Singuard Custom 27.6" unlocks at level 45.
One of the most useful attachments when it comes to increasing your ADS speed is the Tac Laser. This laser helps increase your ADS speed considerably. Since the whole point of this custom class is quick-scoping, this laser plays a significant role.
The Tac Laser unlocks at level 27.
You need to choose Sniper Scope as your optic to transform this Marksman Rifle into a pseudo-Sniper Rifle. This scope gives you 7x magnification, allowing you to hit targets from medium to long-range reliably.
The Sniper Scope unlocks at level 19.
Rear Grip or Perk
Choosing your fifth and final attachment is an entirely personal preference and will depend greatly on the particular game mode you want to play.
That said, we recommend that you go with the Fully Loaded perk. Fully Loaded gives you maximum starting ammo as soon as you get your custom loadout. On the other hand, the Stippled Tape Rear Grip gives you faster ADS speed which is also useful.
If you are playing Solo then having the Fully Loaded perk isn't that useful since you will generally be engaging in gunfights with one, or maximum two players at a time (that is, if one of them decides to third-party you). In Solo, you can compromise on the Max Ammo perk and go with the Stippled Tape Grip for that extra ADS speed.
When you are playing with a squad, then you should choose the Fully Loaded perk to ensure you don't run out of bullets when taking out those squads of three or four.
The Stippled Tape Rear Grip unlocks at level 13, and the Fully Loaded perk unlocks at level 22.
General Perk Tips
The rest of the perks are up to you depending on how you want to play. We do have one recommendation though - Overkill as your second perk slot. It allows you to choose a secondary weapon for your CQC engagements. Ideally, you should select an SMG as your secondary in combination with a Sniper Rifle. We have an excellent MP7 SMG loadout guide which you can use in combination with your Kar98k.
To switch between your Rifle and SMG quickly, choose the Amped perk in the third perk slot. And of course, your first perk slot should be Cold-Blooded to make sure that enemy AI targeting systems and their thermal optics do not catch you.
